MediaChassis and IE-MediaChassis Compact & Extended Temperature Media Conversion Chassis Platform
The MediaChassis and IE-MediaChassis series are ideal solutions for installing iMcV application modules at remote locations or in areas with limited space. For example, deploy these standalone chassis at the customer premises (CPE) or each access point and connect to a multi-slot media conversion platform such as an iMediaChassis located at the central office (CO).
The MediaChassis series includes:
- 1 slot and 2 slot models for installing any iMcV series modules.
- An internal power supply that significantly increases reliability over products that use bulky, external AC/DC power transformers.
- Installation flexibility: table-top, rack and wall mount options.
The MediaChassis series also includes an Industrial Ethernet (IE) model. The IE-MediaChassis series includes:
- 1 or 2 slot versions for installing any iMcV series module.
- AC or DC power options available (the 1 slot version offers both a 4-terminal DC power block and a country-specific external AC power adapter)
- Extended operating temperature (-35°C to 70°C) when used with extended temperature modules
- Extended voltage range on the DC terminal block: 7 to 50 VDC input
- 1 slot version features DIN clips for DIN rail mounting and includes 4 terminal power block supporting cascading DC power
DC powered versions:
- 2 slot version features internal isolated DC power supply;
- 1 slot version requires external isolated DC power supply (not for use with positive reference ground systems)*
All MediaChassis support multiple protocols including Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, OC-1 through OC-24, and TDM technologies such as DS3/E3/STS-1 and T1/E1/J1, and ship from the factory with a country-specific power cord. Depending on the type of installation, rackmount and wallmount brackets and a 19" shelf are also available.
NOTE: Because they include on-board SNMP-management, the FiberLinX family of modules can be managed when installed in a MediaChassis.
* The power source in the IE-MediaChassis/1-DC chassis is not isolated, and cannot support positive reference ground systems typically used in Telco environments. The IE-MediaChassis/2-DC, MediaChassis/2-DC and the iMediaChassis/6-DC are suitable alternatives.
