iMcV-MediaLinX: 10/100 Mbps Switching UTP to Fiber
Converting both media and speed, the iMcV-MediaLinX series is the most flexible in the industry, enabling network administrators to connect 10 Mbps and 100 Mbps twisted pair network segments to 100Base-FX duplex or single-strand fiber optic cabling.
Available as an SNMP-manageable module, the MediaLinX series enables network managers to configure the twisted pair port for Auto Negotiation or Selective Advertising, or force the speed to 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps and between Half-Duplex and Full-Duplex. What's more, the fiber port can even be set to Half- or Full-Duplex operation if required. In addition, the iMcV-Giga-MediaLinX also features Link Fault Pass-Through (LFPT) technology.
The MediaLinX series of fiber converters is also available in single-strand fiber versions to effectively double the data transport capacity of the fiber.
iMcV-MediaLinX modules are easy to configure and manage with the GUI-based iView² SNMP management application software, or with any other SNMP application such as HP OpenView™. iView² runs: standalone on Windows NT/XP/2000; as a standalone Java Application for other operating systems; as a snap-in module for HP OpenView; as a Web Server running under IIS or as a Java Web Servlet.
Hot-swappable iMcV-MediaLinX modules significantly reduce operation costs by allowing other modules within the same chassis to remain up and running during product upgrades, maintenance and troubleshooting. iMcV-MediaLinX modules include LEDs to assist in network diagnostics and troubleshooting. Additionally, the LinkLoss and FiberAlert features make isolating cable breaks easier should one occur.
iMcV-MediaLinX modules install in the following platforms: iMediaCenter, iMediaChassis and MediaChassis.
