iMcV-LIM: Manageable 100 Mbps and 10 or 100 Mbps Autosensing UTP to Fiber Media Converter Modules
Modular iMcV-LIM SNMP-manageable converters deliver a value priced media conversion solution, up to Fast Ethernet speeds. iMcV-LIM series converters are ideal in all premises LAN, fiber distance extension and service provider applications. For example, LAN managers can use these converters to interconnect workgroup switches over fiber optics. Service providers can deploy iMcV-LIM converters back-to-back to provide high-speed data connections to business customers.
There are two versions of the iMcV-LIM:
- iMcV-LIM 10/100 - iMcV-LIM 10/100 SNMP-manageable converters perform a UTP to fiber media conversion at 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps. The dual-speed converter auto-senses the correct rate, providing a migration path from Ethernet to Fast Ethernet over fiber.
- iMcV-LIM 100 - iMcV-LIM 100 SNMP-manageable converters perform a fixed rate UTP to fiber media conversion between 100Base-TX and 100Base-SX or FX.
iMcV-LIM series converters support multi-mode, single-mode, single-strand and CWDM fiber types, with ST or SC connectors.
iMcV-LIM series modules are easy to configure and manage with IMC Networks' iView² SNMP management application, or with any other SNMP application such as HP OpenView™. iView² software features an easy-to-use and intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI) that enables the configuring, monitoring and managing of installed media modules from a central location. Via iView², network managers can receive real-time unit and port status information, as well as configure individual modules for various features and settings.
iView² also includes automatic updates for software and device firmware, and event/trap management for IMC Networks' and other manufacturers' devices installed in the network. iView² runs standalone on Windows NT/XP/2000/Vista; as a standalone Java Application for other operating systems; as a plug-in module for HP OpenView; as a Web Server running under IIS or as a Java Web Servlet.
iMcV-LIM series modules install in iMediaChassis managed and MediaChassis unmanaged chassis.
