Government Sales Account Manager

The Government Sales Account Manager reports to the Vice President, Sales Marketing and is responsible for driving government business through the various sales channels.  Preferably, this position will work out of a home office located in Northern Virginia, Maryland or Washington, DC area.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Use extensive knowledge of government services sector, technology needs, market trends, procurement practices and personal relationships to successfully develop and execute an integrated Federal and State sales plan.
  • Develop, grow and maintain relationships with GSA and State accounts with the ability to close RFPs.
  • Review customer requirements and applications to successfully position IMC Networks products as part of the customer's network solution.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of IMC Networks' products and capabilities, and provide technical customer support as required.
  • Pursue new and maintain existing customers through established sales distribution channels.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of direct selling experience to Government and State agencies, via GSA schedules and/or state contracts.
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred.
  • Technically proficient in Telephony and Data networking markets.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of relationship and strategic selling, with the ability to differentiate and sell value.
  • Must have ability to travel frequently within the U.S. Ideal candidate will be heavily networked, with strong relationships at Tier 1 government VARs.
  • Must be a self-starter, with high energy, self-motivation and ability to work remotely, with little guidance.
