IMC Networks offers two types of standalone miniature media converters with internal power supplies:
- McBasic: The original single port compact media converter, coming with a variety of connector and rate types.
- PSE-McBasic - A 802.3af-compliant PoE-enabled media converter, also available in extended temperature format.
McBasic UTP to Fiber Media Converters
The rugged McBasic copper-to-fiber Media Converters support all Ethernet protocols, making them ideal for all types of conversions and network extensions inside or outside the LAN. The McBasic series includes various cabling troubleshooting features such as LinkLoss and FiberAlert, plus an internal power supply.
PSE-McBasic Power over Ethernet Media Converters
Power over Ethernet Media Converters support IEEE 802.3af standard, perform a fiber-to-UTP conversion and supply both data and electric power from the twisted pair port to power devices such as WiFi access points, VoIP phones and IP security cameras.
