Lookup Fiber Power Budgets

Transmit launch power, receiver saturation, connectors, number of splices, length of the fiber cable, and various environmental factors all have an impact on the maximum transmission distance achieved in optical networking applications.

Many factors introduce signal loss to a fiber installation, called attenuation. For two end devices to be able to send and transmit data, the available optical power budget needs to be greater than the attenuation on a link.

Below you can search optical power budgets and distances per product by entering a product part number.
